Say hello to Sylvester the belted Galloway! This slightly shaggy looking calf plushie stands 30 cm tall and measures 41 cm from nose to butt.
Sylvester is modelled after the Belted Galloway, a sturdy breed of scottish cattle that is most easily recognized by the "belt" of white fur, that encircles the belly of every member of the breed. This distinctive pattern is most often seen in combination with black and has earned the Belted Galloway the nickname Oreo cow. The other two base colors that occur in this breed are red and dun, although other colors can also be found in Miniature Galloways. Sylvester is of a beautiful silver grey color with a broad band of white fur around his belly.
This cute plushie has been made in an environment free of cigarette smoke and perfume, but not entierly pet free as I have cats.
Sylvester's body is made from two shades of regular quality faux fur with a pile length of 12 mm. The tail tip is made from 70 mm luxury mongolian faux fur. The feet and nose are made from synthetic suede, a fabric that is made to resemble brushed leather and has a soft feel to it. The furry parts of the muzzle is made from short pile minky. Upholstery grade velour has been used for the tongue. Sylvester has been fitted with 14 mm plastic safety eyes, which are lined with black imitate leather to improve their shape and to make them more lifelike. The legs have been sealed off from the rest of the body, allowing them to be stuffed firmly enough to carry the weight of the the body, while the rest of the calf is stuffed much more lightly. Plastic beads have been added to the lower legs and tail tip for extra weight.
This plushie is best used as an ornamental piece for indoors decoration purposes or as a photo prop. It is not suitable as a toy and should be kept away from young children and pets at all times. It can be used for play with older children if handled gently. Keep in mind though, that this is an artist doll. It is a work of art and not a toy. The plushie can't be washed if it gets dirty and may easily get damaged.
