Say hello to Cotton. This super fluffy lamb plushie was inspired by the Danish Landrace, a hardy breed of longtailed sheep, that have adapted to grasing among the sand swept dunes of western Denmark.
This beautifully made lamb plushie stands about 30 cm tall and is able to alter between basic standing and sitting positions. It is covered from top to toe by dense, curly fur and is made in a lifelike style. It wears a handmade collar with a bell and features many realistic details. The muzzle, for example, has a slightly opened mouth with a little tongue, that can be tucked away inside it. The feet have been given just as much attention and sport actual cloven hooves and petite dew claws. Every single one of these tiny details have been assembled by hand. All in all this highly decorative plushie is made from 80 handsewn pieces!
The fur has a silky texture and is very soft and bouncy. The color of the fur is simillar to that of unbleached white wool. Most of the head is just as furry as the body, save for the muzzle, noseridge, ears and the area around the eyes. Cotton has brown slit-pupil eyes and a black v-shaped nose. The smooth areas of the face are cream colored. The ears are small and have pink insides. The feet are dark beige.
This lifelike looking plushie will be recreated upon order. As with all items in my store, Cotton was originally designed by me and will also be reproduced by me. It will be made in an environment free of cigarette smoke and perfume, but not entierly pet free as I have cats.
The body is made from highly realistic looking faux lamb's fur with a pile height of 20 mm. The smooth parts of the face are made with minky fabric and have a pile length of about 3 mm. The nose and feet are made from synthetic suede, a fabric that resembles brushed leather and has a soft feel to it. The tongue is made from high quality velour. The plushie is fitted with plastic safety eyes that measure 15 mm across and are fastened with washers. Black imitate leather is used to outline the eyes, in order to improve their shape and make them look more lifelike. Siliconized polyester fibers is used to stuff the plushie. The legs are sealed off internally with a layer of fleece, allowing them to be more firmly stuffed than the rest of the body. Plastic beads are added to the tail tip and lower legs for extra weight.
The collar is fully removable and is available in three different colors. It is assembled from a beautiful jacquard ribbon with an intricate woven pattern. The backside of the ribbon is lined with black fabric to make it more durable. The collar is fitted with a 4 cm tall bell and a small heart shaped tag that says "Hand made" on it.
This plushie is best used as an ornamental piece for indoors decoration purposes. It is not suitable as a toy and should be kept away from young children and pets at all times. It can be used for play with older children if handled gently. Keep in mind though, that this is an artist doll. It is a work of art and not a toy. The plushie can't be washed if it gets dirty and may easily get damaged.
