Say hello to this adorably fluffy and innocent looking calf. Look again and you might notice a pair of mischievous eyes looking back at you, paired with the flicker of a naughty tongue...
This stout looking calf with its thick and luxorious fur has a greyish-white body with cream highlights and black markings. This plushie is modelled after the White Galloway, a breed of cattle recently added to the Galloway family. As the name suggests White Galloway are supposed to be all white, save for a hand full of black markings restricted to the ears, eyes, muzzle and ideally also the legs. This ideal coloration has proven to be elusive though and breeders of White Galloways are often in for a surprise. This particular calf has most of the desired markings but would probably be considered too grey.
The original Galloway is one of our oldest breeds of beef cattle. It can be traced back to cattle native to the south-western parts of Scotland, where it has adapted over the centuries, not only to survive, but also to thrive in conditions where other breeds could not.
This cute Galloway calf will be made upon order. As with all items in my store, this plushie was designed by me and will also be reproduced by me. A lot of effort and care goes into making a detailed plushie like this. Particularly into the snout and and feet, which contain many tiny parts and are notoriously hard to assemble, but also into carefully trimming the excess fur. Once finished, this plushie stands approximately 30 cm tall and measures around 41 cm from nose to butt.
This cute White Galloway calf will be made in an environment free of cigarette smoke and perfume, but not entierly pet free as I have a cat.
High quality faux fur will be used for body and tail. The furs have a pile length of 20 mm and 90 mm respectively. Nose and feet will be made with synthetic suede, a fabric that is made to resemble brushed leather and has a soft feel to it. Minky will be used for the furry parts of the snout and micro fiber cloth for the tongue. The plushie will be fitted with plastic safety eyes that measure 14 mm across and are fastened with washers. Imitate leather will be used to outline the eyes to improve their shape and to make them more life like. The body will be stuffed with siliconized polyester fibers until firm enough for the plushie to stand properly.
Making a calf plushie usually takes me 1-3 weeks, but I may need longer, depending on how busy I am at the time of the order. Once finished the plushie will be shipped within 2 workdays.
This plushie is best used as an ornamental piece for indoors decoration purposes. It is not suitable as a toy and should be kept away from young children and pets at all times. It can be used for play with older children if handled gently. Keep in mind though, that this is an artist doll. It is a work of art and not a toy. The plushie can't be washed if it gets dirty and may easily get damaged.
